Obituary of Lucia Ierardi Lucia

Lucia A. “Lou” (Ierardi) Lucia, 89, of Lynn, died peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Albert E. Lucia with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, January 7, 1920, Mrs. Lucia was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Sassone) Ierardi. She was a life-long resident of Lynn and was educated in the Lynn Public School System attending the Aborn School, then graduating from Lynn English High School. For a brief period Mrs. Lucia worked at the General Electric in Lynn before dedicating herself to raising her family. Mrs. Lucia was an avid reader, loved to paint and enjoyed gardening. Most important to Lucia was her family, particularly her five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Lucia is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Linda and James Harnois of Peabody, and Nancy and Robert Beaupre of Lynn, two sisters, Antoinette Mooney of Portsmouth, NH and Angelina Dugas and her husband Roger of Marblehead, five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Her brothers, Philip and Paul Ierardi, and her brother-in-law Joseph Mooney pre-deceased her. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody. Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday from 9 to 11 AM to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn.
