Obituary of Andrew Kuchinsky

. Andrew Kuchinsky, 62, of Peabody, died suddenly, Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington. He was the husband of Dorothea (Michaud) Kuchinsky with whom he shared 37 years of marriage. Mr. Kuchinsky was born in Cambridge, MA on January 21, 1947. He was the son of the late Andrew J. and Olga (Esauk-Savesky) Kuchinsky. Andrew lived in Arlington and Concord, MA before moving to Peabody in 1971. He was a graduate of Syracuse University, School of Fine Arts and Lowell University, School of Engineering. He was a Licensed Structural Engineer. He worked as a civil and structural engineer in many private companies as well as the City of Peabody and the Town of Wilmington. Most recently he started his own business, AK Structural Engineering which he ran until his death. Andrew was an avid reader and enjoyed hiking, biking, boating, gardening and watching the History Channel. He leaves his children, Frederick Steven Sullivan, Gregory Kuchinsky, Sara Kuchinsky, and those who are like his children, Aida Alceyan, Andrej Smatana and his companion Nicole Ferreira, Terrance Jacobsen, Lisa Martiniello and her husband Eric. He also opened his home to many young people in need and homeless cats and dogs. He leaves 8 grandchildren, Austin and Alyssa Sullivan, Arianna Kuchinsky, Christian and Timothy Smatana, Hayley, Cole, and Dominic Martiniello, a sister, Lisa and her husband David Coughlin of Oregon, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by Services at 7:00 PM that night to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, 10 Chandler St., Boston, MA 02116 or a charity of your choice
