Obituary of Blanche M. (Levasseur) Caron

Blanche M. (Levasseur) Caron, 99, beloved wife of the late Albert Caron, died Thursday morning at the Grosvenor Manor Nursing Home in Salem following a brief illness. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Lussier) Levasseur. She lived in Peabody in her youth and attended Peabody schools. She was a student at St. John’ s School during the 1914 Fire, and graduated from ST. John’ s School. She lived on the North Shore for all of her life, more than 60 years in Peabody and over 30 years in Salem. Mrs. Caron worked at Belle’ s Hosiery in Salem, and Hunt-Rankin Leather Factory in Salem for many years, and was a dedicated homemaker and family person. She was active in St. John the Baptist Church Parish while living in Peabody, and was a communicant at St. Joseph’ s Church in Salem while living there. She was a member of the Salem Council on Aging, and was always active at the Antique Flea Market and regular Sunday Flea Market on Canal St., along with her sisters, in Salem until nine years ago. Living with five generations, she is survived by: five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Albertine Stankard of Hudson, MA, Dora Roy and Cecile Cappuccio, both of Salem, and Marie Farrell of Peabody; one brother, Raymond Levasseur of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Norman J. Caron, and two brothers, Leo Levasseur and Joseph Levasseur. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10 AM from the Cahill-Brodeur facility at 20 Church St., of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
