Obituary of Leona (Lukaszewski) Sobutka

Danvers - Leona T. (Lukaszewski) Sobutka, 86, beloved wife of the late Anthony Sobutka, died peacefully at the Masconomet Healthcare Facility in Topsfield on Saturday following a long illness. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Wladyslaw and Blanche (Klimkowski) Lukaszewski. She lived in Lynn in her youth and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. She lived in Peabody for 27 years and lived in Danvers for many years. Mrs. Sobutka worked as a Supervisor with Connelly's Candy in Lynn for many years. Leona enjoyed baking, knitting, gardening, and being outside in nature. She will be remembered affectionately for her devotion to her family. She is survived by: a daughter and son-in-law, Janice & Edward Chiuchiolo of Boxford; two granddaughters, Lisa & her husband Mark Roberts of North Andover and Amy Chiuchiolo of Bozeman, MT; two great-grandchildren, Cadence and Allie Roberts of North Andover; a brother, Henry & his wife Marjorie Lukaski of Peabody; two sisters, Nora Smolski of Saugus and Barbara Burak of Lynnfield; a sister-in-law, Alice Trubacz of Nashua, NH; and many nieces and nephews, including a devoted nephew Mitchell Smolski of Saugus. She was preceded in death by a sister, Celia Pisiak. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday at 9 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann's Church, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
