Obituary of William "Bill" Mulley

Peabody, November 4, 2002. William Bill Mulley, 87, of Andover and formally of Rose Circle Peabody, died early Monday morning surrounded by his family at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Dorothy E. (Shedden) Mulley with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Pleman J. and Susannah (Murray) Mulley. He was raised in Revere and attended Revere Public Schools and graduated from Revere High School, class of 1933. He has resided in Peabody for the past 51 years. He worked for 14 years as a Machinist for General Electric Riverworks in Lynn and later represented Lynd-Farquhar a Machinery manufacturing company based in Natick before retiring in 1981. He was a veteran of WWII who served with the United States Navy and was a disabled American Veteran. He attended Northeastern University and earned a Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1951. He also was a member of the Jordan Lodge AF & A.M of Peabody for 50 years. He loved the ocean, golf, and collecting antique clocks. He will be deeply missed by his family. He is survived by 3 daughters, Linda L. Mulley of Norwich, Vt., Marilyn J. Newhall of Haverhill, and Deborah McGowan of Peabody; 1 sister, Myrtle Savard of Peabody, 7 grandchildren, Jessica and Lindsey McGowan, both of Peabody, Laura and Gabriel Mulley and Jonah Levine, all of VT, Jodi and Beth Newhall, both of Haverhill. and a close family friend, Alice Kershaw of Peabody. He was the brother of the late Herbert Mulley, Anne Merriman and Dorothy Duffy. His Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Northshore Unitarian Universalist Church, Locus St., Rte 35 Danvers. A visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody facility, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Donations can be made to the Crohn’ s & Colitis Foundation of America, Donations Dept., 17th Floor, 386 Park Ave South, NY, NY 10016.
