Obituary of Joseph R. Zapolski

. Joseph R. Zapolski, 62, of Lynn, died Thursday afternoon at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Gloria (Turmenne) Zapolski with whom he shared over 39 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Casimir and Stella (Siaglo) Zapolski. Joe was a lifelong resident of Lynn who loved his childhood on River Street. He also attended Lynn Public Schools. Joe worked for over 43 years as a Welder for the General Electric Company in Lynn at the Gear Plant. He also enjoyed cooking and boating and he loved socializing and working with the lobster men along the Saugus River. Joe also enjoyed taking cruises to Bermuda. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Kathy Zapolski of Saugus, his aunt, Alice Babcock of Saugus, his uncle, Joseph Siaglo of Lowell and by many niece, nephews and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Nina Tyler. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
