Obituary of James Lee Mourey

Peabody, December 26, 2004. James Lee Mourey, 64, of Peabody, the Accountant for the Town of Groveland, died Sunday at the Lahey Clinic North in Peabody after a brief illness. He was the husband of Patricia (Pierce) Trueira Mourey with whom he shared 18 years of marriage. He was born in Haverhill on October 12, 1940, the son of the late William and Irene (Belanger) Mourey and was raised in Gloucester graduating from Gloucester High School and had resided in Peabody for the past 18 years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Bentley College. Mr. Mourey was the Auditor for the City of Gloucester for over 15 years and for the past 10 years was the Accountant for the Town of Groveland. He was a member of the Masschusetts Accountants Association, the Peabody Lodge of Elks, # 1409 and he enjoyed cooking for his family. Surviving him besides his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Becky Mourey of Hopkington, MA, a daughter, Anne Burton of MA, a brother and sister-in-law, William and Dorothy Mourey of Gloucester, 3 step-sons and their wives, David and Denise Trueira of Wilmington, Brian and Jean Trueira and Glenn and Christine Trueira all of Peabody; 9 grandchildren, David & Derek Trueira of Wilmingto, Leigh Anne, Philip, Cameron and Justin Trueira all of Peabody, Tyler and Ali Mourey of Hopkington and Joshua Burton of No. Conway, NH, 2 Sisters and brothers-in-law, Charles and Beverly Lyon and Chester and Dorothy Sparks all of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM from the Conway,Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
