Obituary of Anthony James Giadone

Anthony James Giadone, 82, of West Peabody, died Thursday evening at his residence after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the husband of Edna Ruth (Maguire) Giadone with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. He was born in Fitchburg on April 26, 1927, the son of the late Philip and Lucia (Calvano) Giadone and was raised in East Boston graduating from East Boston High School in 1945. Following his graduation, her entered the US Army and served in Word War II with the Army and in the Korean War with the National Guard prior to His discharge in 1956. He had been a member of the VFW of Newton and later the American Legion of Revere. He was also a member of the Moose Club of Waltham. Anthony was a movie buff who liked Westerns and also enjoyed dancing. He was a Red Sox and Patriot loyal fan. Surviving him besides his wife are his children and their spouses, Anthony and Carol Giadone of Stoneham, Kathleen Giadone and Dean Ward of Peabody, Mary and Francis Lee of Nashua, NH, Norma Thistle and her partner, Dana Callahan of Salem, Paula and Timothy Martin of Saugus, Sharon and Michael Granese of No Reading, Daniel and Angela Giadone of Groveland, Eileen Goodman of Nashville, TN, and the Late Edward Giadone who died earlier this April, his cherished 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a sister Theresa Giadone of Tyngsboro and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Pistone, Grace Spalvero, Josephine Giarusso, William, John and Philip Giadone. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway,Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will Be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., West Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Mem.
