Obituary of Rashmikant L. Vyas

Rashmikant L. Vyas, 70, of Salem, died early Tuesday morning at his home following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Nalini R. (Dave) Vyas with whom he shared over 47 years of marriage. Born in Surendra Nagar, India, he was the son of the late Labhshankar and Nirmala (Trivedi) Vyas. He was raised and educated in India and later lived in Uganda, Africa, and for the past 37 years he has lived in Salem. Rashmikant was a well known car salesman who worked throughout the North Shore, and retired just recently from Colonial Cadillac in Danvers. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and overseas, but most important to him was the time he spent with his family and later his three grandchildren. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Smita and Brian Foley of Gorham, Maine and Dipti and Eric Cox of Seattle, Washington, his three loving grandchildren, Meghan Foley, and Brody and Steven Cox and is also survived by eight brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A private family service will be held on Friday. In lieu of flowers, friends can make donations in his name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
