Obituary of Franklin George "Frank" Caires
Franklin George Frank Caires 62 years, husband of Elizabeth Betty (Killoran) Caires of Beverly, died Saturday at his home after courageously battling cancer.
Mr. Caires was born September 5, 1942 in Peabody son of the late Joseph and Mary (Thomas) Caires. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School class of 1960. Following High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in June of 1960 attained the rank of Sergeant E-5 and received his honorable discharge in June of 1966. While serving in the Corps he specialized in radio repairs.
After returning to the private sector he was employed at the General Electric Co. in Lynn in their electronics’ department until 1986. Since that time, Mr. Caires has been employed at Amitek Electronics in Wilmington. His family was first and foremost. During his grammar school years he belonged to the Portuguese American Civic League Precision Drill Team. As a hobby he enjoyed kite flying.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared 37 years of marriage, he is survived by a son and his wife, Greg and Jennifer Caires of Endwell NY; 3 brothers and their spouses, Armando Mundo and Diane Caires of MI, Leonard Lenny and Jackie Caires of NH and Bernard Benny Caires of FL; 2 sisters and their husbands, Grace and Robert McLenithen of MI and Leta and James Guzofski of Peabody; 2 grandchildren, Griffyn and Elijah Caires of NY, many nieces, nephews and cousins. His siblings Theresa Rand and Carnie Darling predeceased him.
As per his request a memorial service will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers MA 01923. Arrangements by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody.
