Obituary of Louise J. (Lentz) Strabone

Louise J. (Lentz) Strabone PEABODY Louise J. (Lentz) Strabone, 62, beloved wife of Ret. Fire Capt. Daniel Strabone of Peabody, died Monday morning at her home surrounded by her loving family, following a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Boston, she was a lifelong Peabody resident. She was the daughter of Catherine (Stevens) (Lentz) O’ Shea of Peabody and the late George H. Lentz. She attended Peabody schools, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1957. Mrs. Strabone worked with New England Telephone on St. Peter St. in Salem for several years before taking a leave to be with her young and growing family. She later returned to work with NYNEX in Lynn, then a Supervisor with the Yellow Pages the merging companies of Bell Atlantic and Verizon at the Middleton office, until her official retirement four years ago. She was a woman who was very dedicated to family and friends, and loved social gatherings where she enjoyed cooking. She travelled extensively with her husband to Hawaii, the Caribbean, and the entire United States. She was and avid reader, appreciated music, served on her Class RE-Union Committee, was a communicant at St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody, and especially loved her grandchildren. Surviving her are: her husband, Ret. Fire Capt. & Fire Prevention Officer, Daniel Strabone of Peabody, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage; one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel & Maryellen Strabone of Hampton Falls, NH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Marie & Michael Lussier of Worcester and Deborah Ann & John Baglio of Peabody; four cherished grandchildren, Matthew Strabone and Michael Strabone of Hampton Falls, NH, and Noelle Lussier and Jonathan Lussier of Worcester; a brother and sister-in-law, George & Carol Lentz of Andover; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice & Richard Bergeron of Salem, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by triplet sons, John, Matthew, and Luke Strabone in 1966. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will be on Tues. AND Wed, both days 4 to 8 P.M. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. -30-
