Obituary of Stella A. (Stankovitch) Lane
Stella A. (Stankovitch) Lane, 91 of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died Wednesday at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Albert L. Lane. She was born in Boston, MA on July 30, 1917, the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Annie Stankovitch and had resided most of her life in Peabody before moving to Danvers.
She had been employed as a custodian with the Peabody School Department for 15 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and cooking. She had been a member of the North Shore ARC association and was also active for many years at St. John’s Church in Peabody.
She is survived by a daughter, June Lane, a retired Peabody School Teacher of Pembroke, MA, Four grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Frances M. Smith and the late Albert Michael Lane.
A Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St. Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Bass River Inc,, 437 Essex St., Beverly, MA 01915 in her memory.
