Obituary of Thomas Henry Waters

Thomas Henry “Tom” Waters, 86, of Sarasota, Florida and a former long time resident of Peabody, MA, died on Monday, July 20, 2009 in Sarasota, Florida. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Fay) Waters who died in 1991. He was born in Peabody, MA on December 3, 1922, the son of the late Thomas S. and Frances A. (Mueller) Waters and was raised and educated in Peabody and resided here for 65 years before moving to Florida 20 years ago. Thomas was a devout catholic and had been a daily communicant of St. John’s Church while in Peabody and later was a “Dawn Buster” at the 7:00 AM Mass at the Incarnation Church in Sarasota Florida. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandkids and great-grand kids. His engaging nature and quick wit were attributes he shared liberally. He had been an avid golfer until he was no longer physically able to play. Tom was a veteran of WW II serving four years with the US Navy from 1942 until his discharge in 1946 He is survived by his three sons, Thomas P. and his wife Erilda Waters of Bradenton, FL., Kevin Waters of Peabody and Brian and his wife Lisa Waters of Salisbury, MA, a daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Doug Butcher of Peabody, a sister-in-law, Gerry Waters of Peabody, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late William Waters and Joseph Waters. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 until 8 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
