Obituary of Richard C. Caproni Sr.
Richard C. Caproni, 70, of So. Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died unexpectedly Thursday evening at the Salem Hospital after taking an ill turn while walking at Nahant Beach. He was the husband of Shirley (Robie) Caproni with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.
He was born in Lynn, Ma on November 29, 1934, the son of the late Henry J. and Marietta (Palmer) Caproni and later moved to Peabody where he was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1954.
He entered the US Army in
1957 and later served in the Reserves before his discharge in 1963. He was a life member of the Franco American Amvets Post 12 of Lynn.
Following his discharge, he worked with his Father, Henry Caproni, who started Cap’ s Auto Parts in Lynn for over 35 years. He had a passion for cars and in 1993; he became the founder and owner of Western Avenue Quick Lube and Auto Repair and worked there for the past 12 years.
He enjoyed his second home in Jefferson, NH where he did snowmobiling and hiking in the
mountains.
He was also an active member of the Lynn YMCA for many years but his
true pleasure was playing with and watching his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard C. Jr. and Diana Caproni of Peabody, a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Caproni and her husband Michael Cicciu of Milford, Ma, 2 sisters, Barbara Lucca of Lynn and Joan Deveney of Hampton Falls, NH, five precious grandchildren, Matthew, Krista, Jonathan, Bobby and Christopher and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Henry Bobby Caproni.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility. His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Expressions of sympathy may be
made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, Ma 01701 in his
memory.
