Obituary of William H. "Bill" Giampietro

William H. “Bill” Giampietro, 78, loving husband of Ann M. (DiEoreo) Giampietro of Peabody, died on Sunday, August 02, 2009 at the Radius Healthcare Center at Danvers with his family at his side. Bill was born on December 23, 1930, in East Boston, son of the late John and Phyllis (Ventresca) Giampietro. He was raised and educated in East Boston. In 1961 he moved from Revere to Peabody. Bill enlisted into the U.S. Navy on January 15, 1951 and was honorably discharged on January 14, 1955. Bill began his working career in the shoe industry at an early age and retired from his company in 2003 as a manager following 37 years of employment. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Haverhill Country Club for 38 years. Bill was very artistic and enjoyed painting with oil, playing the guitar and singing. He was a very meticulous woodworker who could build and repair any broken pieces around the house. In addition to his wife with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, he is survived by his children, Jan Giudice and John W. Giampietro both of Peabody; a sister, Theresa “Honey” D’Entremont of Malden; his granddaughters, Kristin Paone and Kristen Rotondo both of Salem; 5 sisters-in-law and 3 brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. His siblings, Ann Gentile, John and Michael Giampietro predeceased him. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. Entombment will be at the Malden Catholic Mausoleum.
