Obituary of Jacqueline M. (Brown) Rogers

Jacqueline M. (Brown) Rogers, 74, of Peabody and formerly of Beverly, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Paul Rogers with whom she shared over 45 years of marriage. Born in Marblehead, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Elizabeth (Bishop) Brown. She later lived in Beverly and has spent the last 40 years living in Peabody. Jackie first worked as an operator for the telephone company for six years, and then she ran an In Home Day Care for kids in Peabody for 15 years. Finally, before retiring, she worked additional years as a sales clerk for Plus Sizes at the Endicott Mall in Danvers. Jackie enjoyed reading and knitting, but what mattered to her most was the time she spent with her loving family, and her grandchildren and was anxiously waiting the birth of great grandson, who is due in the fall. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by two sons, Peter and Timothy Marcotte, both of Peabody, three daughters, Louisa Marcotte of Hamilton, Cindy Marcotte of Peabody and Kathleen Rogers-Hamalainen and her husband John Hamalainen of Effingham, NH, her beloved three grandchildren, Danielle Adjutant, and Jocelyn and Nicholas Rogers-Hamalainen. She was the mother of the late Barbara Marcotte, and sister of the late Beverly Andrews. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the family lot at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MGH/ North Shore Cancer Center, 102 Endicott St., Danvers, Ma 01923.
