Obituary of Eva C. (Stamoulis) Makrogiannis

Eva C. (Stamoulis) Makrogiannis, 63, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Emmanuel Makrogiannis with whom she just celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on July 30. Born in Theva, Greece, she was the daughter of the late George and Calliope (Kokinos) Stamoulis. At age 8 she immigrated with her family to the United States where she has spent the last 54 years living in Peabody. Eva was a very spiritual and religious person who was active at Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox church in Peabody and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and Philoptohos. Eva loved doing charity work and giving back to her community. She did so in a very silent way. Everything she did, she did happily, without expecting recognition or reward. Eva always put the needs of others in front of her own. Eva was very creative and intelligent. She loved her arts and crafts especially her knitting. Family was most important to Eva and she dedicated her herself to raising and being with her family, especially her two daughters who survive her, Pamela and Georgia Makrogiannis, both of Peabody, her brother, Charles Stamoulis of Florida, and sister, Sandra Gass of Beverly. She was the sister of the late James Stamoulis who was her twin brother. Her service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
