Obituary of Veronica Mary (Connolly) Belanger

Veronica Mary (Connolly) Belanger, 85, of Peabody, died Monday morning at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Lucien R. Belanger. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (White) Connolly and was a graduate of St. James High School. She has been living in Peabody for the past 20 years. She came from a musical family and during World War II; she was part of the USO Minstrel Shows. She later worked as an assembler for Osram Sylvania for ten years and before her marriage, and after raising her children, she worked as a dietary technician at the Devereuax Nursing Home in Marblehead for 8 years. She also was an avid reader. She is survived by two sons and a daughters-in-law, Lucien Lou and Barbara Belanger of Auburn, NH, and Jim and Peggy Belanger of Lynn; a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Roger Lee of Magnolia; a brother, Joseph Connolly of Danvers, five grandchildren, Craig and Shannon Belanger of Lynn, Aimee Hill and her husband, State Rep Brad Hill of Ipswich, Roger III, and his wife Lisa Lee of Charlotte, NC and Dan and Andrea Lee of Ipswich. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Connolly, Anna Clements, and Sheila Connolly. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 until 8 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. . Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma 01923.
