Obituary of Domenic J. Zecchino

Domenic J. Zecchino, 83, of Peabody, died Friday at the Hunt Retirement and Nursing Center in Danvers with his family by his side after a long illness. He was the husband of Yolanda (Minichiello) Zecchino with whom they celebrated their 60th Wedding anniversary this past April. He was born in Boston on December 5, 1925, the son of the late Antonio and Rafaela Zecchino and was raised and educated there graduating from East Boston High School. He entered the US Army during WW II and served overseas in Central Europe and the Rhineland with the 5th Infantry prior to his discharge in 1946. He had been a member an officer of the Vitori-Rocci Post of Beverly. Domenic worked for 35 years with the Gulf Oil Company in the Chelsea office retiring as an Accountant 25 years ago. He was a jack of all trades man in doing choirs and helping others. He enjoyed working and riding on his Motorcycle and boating on The Charles River and Lake Winnepasaukee. His real love was his grandchildren where he loved to play with them and teach them how to respect others. Surviving him besides his wife are two sons and a daughters-in-law, Domenic and Janet Zecchino of Saugus, Richard and Jude Zecchino of Hudson, NH and a daughter and son-in-law, Ellaranne and Leonard Roland of Peabody, his seven grandchildren, Matthew D. Zecchino, Casey L. Roland, Melissa M. Zecchino, Craig A. Zecchino, Stephany M. Zecchino, Kelsy M. Zecchino and Becky Jo Roland and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. Peabody (Downtown) Facility. His Funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
