Obituary of Francis E. Dolan
Francis E. Dolan, 80, of Mashpee, Ma and formerly of
Peabody and Boxford,Ma., died Friday at the J.L.M. Care Center in Falmouth, Ma. after a
Lengthy illness. He was the husband of Virginia M. (Boyle) Dolan.
He was born and raised in Bangor, Me., the son of the late Henry and Cecilia (Ferguson) Dolan and was a graduate of Bangor High School in 1940.
He was a distinguished disabled veteran of WW 11 serving with the U.S Army and
Later in the Korean War and Viertnam conflict with the Army Reserve for a total of 30 years retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1970.
Following WW 11, he went to work with the
MBTA as a starter and was employed for 37 years retiring in 1982.
He had resided in Peabody for 10 years and later in Boxford for 10 years before moving to Mashpee 16 years ago.
He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and traveling.
He was a member of the Car Mans Union of Boston and the Falmouth Lodge of Elks # 2380.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Gail F. And Brian
Doherty of Ipswich, Deborah and Scott Jeffers of Salem and Cheryl and Scott Havenook
Of Goldsboro, N.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen E. and Nancy Dolan of Keller, Tx., a brother, Frederick T. Dolan of Junction City, Ks.; 11 grandchildren, Mark Dolan of
Peabody, Patrick Dolan of Derry, N.H., Kristen Doherty of San Francisco, Ca., Dan Doherty of Ipswich, Kathleen Doherty of N.Y, N.Y., Tristan Jeffers, Damon Jeffers and
Devin Jeffers all of Salem, Ma., Sorcha Havenook of Mi., Bryna Havenook and Bryce
Havenook both of N.C., a great grand son, Sean P. Dolan and 3 nieces and a nephew.
He was the brother of the late Henry T. Dolan.
His Funeral will be held on
Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody
At 11:00 A.M. Burial in Puritan Lawn Mem. Park, Peabody. Visiting hours on Monday
From 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions
