Obituary of Vincent Mario Cardinale
Vincent M. Cardinale, 70, of Carpenter St., beloved husband of Joan (Williams) Cardinale of Peabody, died suddenly and unexpectedly during a Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Friday evening.
Born in East Boston, he was the son of the late John A. And Margaret (LaCortiglia) Cardinale, and lived in Everett in his youth. He attended Everett schools, and graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1949. He then went on to Huntington Prep School before completing is B.S.M.E. degree from Northeastern University in 1955, and eventually earned his Masters of Science (M.S. ) in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1964. He lived in Peabody for the last 44 years.
Mr. Cardinale was employed with General Electric Riverworks Plant in Lynn. His last years there he served as a Chief Consultant Engineer/Aeromechanics until his retirement in 1995 after 39 years with G.E.
He was active in St. Adelaide’ s Church, and loved gardening, camping, photography, birdwatching, boating and fishing on lake at Ossippee, NH, tinkering with computers, and he was a Drummer with a local band in the Everett area.
He is survived by: his wife, Joan (Williams) Cardinale of Peabody; one son, Paul Cardinale of Georgetown; five daughters, Pamela & James Lynch and Janice & Brian L’ Italien, both of Georgetown, Gail & Tom Kilcoyne of Topsfield, Julie & Eric Rosenberger of Beverly Farms, and Paula & Phil O’ Connell of Essex; he was a devoted grandfather of 15; he leaves three sisters, Marie Johnson of Milbury, Barbara Gulizia of Chelsea, and Mildred Russo of Lynn; and he leaves many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Palma Fitzpatrick.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody, relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
