Obituary of Sabina "Sally" (Sumski) Kuva

Peabody - Sabina A. "Sally" (Sumski) Kuva, 89, beloved wife of the late Edward J. Kuva, a former Peabody City Counselor, died peacefully Saturday evening at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly. Born in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Dobrzeniecki) Sumski. She lived in Salem in her youth and graduated from Salem High School, Class of 1938. She lived in Peabody for the last 63 years. Together with her husband she owned and operated their businesses of Colonial Beverage and Foster Oil in Peabody. Sabina was a communicant at St. John's Church in Peabody, and enjoyed traveling and polka dancing. She is survived by a son, Edward M. Kuva of Wells, ME; a daughter, Judith Gibbons of Manchester, MA; two nieces and their husbands, Paula & Mitchell Weisman and Janet & Michael Di Prisco both of Marblehead, and a nephew and his wife John & Suzanne Sumski of Marblehead. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a brother John Sumski. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:50AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701
