Obituary of Louis Rocco

Louis Rocco, 79, of Peabody, died Tuesday morning at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody following a long illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Betty (Kooshkalis) Rocco with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage. Born in Naples, Italy, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Gilda (DiMartino) Rocco. He was raised and educated in Harlem, New York, Upper side until he was 17 years old. He later moved to Massachusetts and has been a resident of Peabody for the past 58 years. Louis first enlisted with the United States National Guard and later enlisted with the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He served his career with the United States Navy until his retirement due to his service connected disability. He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, John and Kim Rocco of Peabody, Michael Rocco of Georgetown, and Andrew and Lynne Rocco of Lynn, a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Domenic Orsomarso of New York, four grandchildren, Joseph and Anthony Rocco of Peabody and Zachary and Jacob Rocco of Lynn, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by Services at 10:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
