Obituary of Thomas J. Catterson

Thomas J. Catterson , 58, of Peabody, died early Thursday Morning at the Salem Hospital after an 18 month battle with colon cancer. He was the husband of Jana (Magnet) Catterson with whom he shared 27 years of marriage. He was born in Everett on October 26, 1946, the son of the late Thomas J. and Alice (Allen) Catterson and was raised there graduating from Everett High School and later Bunker Hill Community College. He had resided in Peabody for the past 26 years. He was the facilities manager for the City of Boston for the past 30 years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam war serving with the US Army. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Red Sox and was a good handyman around the home. He loved to listen to and play music and was a member of the Gerry 5 Club of Marblehead. Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters, Erin, Lindsay and Shay Catterson all of Peabody, a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Oscar Di Nino of Reading, his mother-in-law, Beatrice Magnot and a brother-in-law Kirk Magnet and his wife Susan all of Marlbehead, a sister-in-law, Rosemary Catterson of Everett and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paul Catterson. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. A Funeral Service will be held there on Monday at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
