Obituary of Jeanne F. (Buckley) Coughlin
Jeanne F. Coughlin, 85, of Needham, wife of the late Cornelius J. “Neil” Coughlin, died on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, Reading.
Jeanne was born in Salem, May 31, 1924, the daughter of the late Francis A. and Mary A. (Cahill) Buckley. She was raised in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School Class of 1942. In 1957, she moved to Needham where she has since resided.
Jeanne was employed for many years as a secretary at Polaroid until her retirement in 1985. She dedicated her life to her family and later to her grandchildren whom she cherished. Jeanne was a member of the Witch Hill Ski Club and the Manson H. Carter VFW Post 2498 Ladies Auxiliary in Needham.
Jeanne is survived by her children and their spouses, C. J. Coughlin III and Marilyn Coughlin of Needham, Shawn T. and Joni Coughlin of Vail CO, Kathleen M. O’Brien of Middlefield, Mary Ann and David Rowe of Sandpoint ID, Theresa G. and Robert Lynch of Harpswell ME; 1 sister, Marion L. Donigan and her husband John M. of Chelmsford; 9 grandchildren, Ann Marie O’Brien of Middlefield, Michael O’Brien of Arlington, Patrick, Kelly and Katie Lynch all of ME, Nicole and Tori Coughlin of Needham, Sharon and Sarah Rowe of ID and many nieces and nephews. Her son Patrick Michael Coughlin predeceased her in 1985.
Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Tuesday, September 29th at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave., Needham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday, September 28th from 4 to 8 PM.
