Obituary of M. Eleanor Flynn

M. Eleanor (Cahill) Flynn, L.P.N., 76, of Peabody died Friday evening at the Beverly Rehab & Nursing Center in Beverly surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Edward J. Flynn Sr. with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Born and raised in Saint John’ s, Newfoundland, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Minnie (O’ Leary) Cahill and had resided in Peabody for the past 47 years. She moved to Boston in 1946 and was a graduate of the Holy Ghost School of Nursing in Cambridge. After her marriage, she became an LPN at the former J.B. Thomas Hospital for 20 years prior to her retirement. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed Crafting and traveling. Surviving her besides her husband are 3 sons and two daughters-in-Law, Edward J. and Christine Flynn Jr. of Peabody, Richard and Paula of Londonderry, N.H. and Frederick Flynn of Danvers; a daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor Flynn -Salvucci and Joseph Salvucci of Tewksbury; 6 grandchildren, Kathryn of Peabody, Julie and Stephen of Londonderry, NH, Sarah and Christopher of Danvers and Jennifer of Tewksbury, a Brother and Sister-in-law, Gerard and Nora Cahill of St. John’ s Newfoundland, Canada, a sister-in-law, Helen Sullivan of Peterborough, N.H. and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rev. Frederick Cahill C.S.B., Joan Cahill and Frances Berrigan. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m from the Conway, Cahill-Bredeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, 136 Lynn St., Peabody at 10:00 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours on Monday from 7-9 P.M. and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Relatives and friends are Kindly invited.
