Obituary of Catherine C. (Finn) Flynn

Catherine C. (Finn) Flynn, 91, of Peabody, died Monday afternoon at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James J. Flynn. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late John and Delia (Condon) Finn. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. She has lived in Peabody for the past 61 years. She attended Bryant and Stratton Business School in Boston and later worked as a secretary for Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody for 10 years. She was a member of American Air Lines and N.E. Vanguard three diamond society. Catherine is survived by a son, James J. Flynn, Jr, and a daughter, Barbara Nunes, both of Danvers, a brother-in-law, Edward M. Flynn of Saugus, four grandchildren, Cheryl Nunes of Danvers, John and his wife Kristen Nunes of Raymond, NH, Christine and her husband, Shawn Elliott of Danvers and Michael and his wife Christina Flynn of Hookset, NH, four great grandchildren, Lindsay and Brooke Elliott of Danvers, and Amanda and Matthew McGowen of Hookset, NH and a great great grandchild, Briella White and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas, Edward, John, Albert, and William Finn, Mary Berlin, Josephine McEnaney, and Anna Dulong, and was the mother-in-law of the late Marcia Flynn. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Massachusetts Commission for the Bind, 48 Boylston St., Boston, MA 02116-4718.
