Obituary of Calliope (Kokinos) Stamoulis

Calliope (Kokinos) Stamoulis, 89, of Peabody, died peacefully early Wednesday afternoon surrounded by her family at her home following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late George Stamoulis. Born in Samos, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Evangelos and Stamatia (Kokoras) Kokinos. She was raised in Greece, immigrated to the United States in 1955, and has been living in Peabody for the past fifty years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who gave of herself to raise her children and grandchildren. She also dedicated herself to charity work and was a member of the Philoptochos Athena Society. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Nicky Stamoulis of Florida, two daughters and sons-in-law, Eva and Emmanuel Makrogiannis of Peabody and Sandra and Thomas Gass of Beverly; two brothers, Andrew and Emmanuel Kokinos, and two sisters, Maria Thermanis and Esmeralda Karambetzos, all of Greece; 12 grandchildren , 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late James Stamoulis. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by Funeral Services at 10:00 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 5 until 8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vasilios Fund, 5-7 Paleologos Street, Peabody, MA 01960
