Obituary of William "Vitol" J. Pechinsky

. William “Vitol” J. Pechinsky, 92, of Peabody, died Monday afternoon at the Renaissance Gardens at Brooksby Village following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Cassie (Surman) Pechinsky who died this past August. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Julian and Anastasia (Bylinsky) Pechinsky. He was a life long resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School. He was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in February of 1946. He worked as a pilot plant manager for Eastman Gelatin in Peabody until his retirement in 1985. He was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peabody and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Leo Council 508 in Peabody and St. Michael’s Society. William enjoyed playing sports and was a member of the Friscoe’s baseball team and St. Stanislaw softball team, and he enjoyed fishing and loved vegetable gardening. William enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him including his son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Carol Pechinsky of Georgetown, a daughter and son-in-law, Elena and John Novero of Sandwich, his brother, Joseph Pechinsky of Danvers, his sister, Jennie Maciewicz of Danvers, his loving grandchildren, Geoffrey and his wife Kristin, Stephen and his wife Gillian Pechinsky and Jacob, Caitlyn, Molly, Aileen and Breanne Novero, and his great grandson, William Pechinsky, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank, Benjamin, and John Pechinsky. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
