Dear Mrs. Callahan and family,<br>Unfortunately I was unable to attend services for Tom since I am currently out of state. However, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family for your loss. Tom, better known to me as Mr. Callahan, was department head of the English Dept. when I was hired as an English teacher in 1972. I worked under his direction until he retired. Mr. Callahan was so knowledgeable about many different subjects, but he was also very caring and offered much needed advice to a young, newly married teacher.
