Obituary of Walter Yelinski

Walter Yelinski, 88 Walter Yelinski, 88, beloved husband of Anastasia M. (Zielinski) Yelinski of Peabody, died peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Friday afternoon at the Harborside Twin Oaks Health Care Center in Danvers. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Stanley and Victoria (Lenkauskas) Yelinski and lived in Peabody for most of his life. He later graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, and further studied at Salem State College. Mr. Yelinski worked as a Metalurgist with Sylvania at the Loring Ave facility before retiring over 20 years ago. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II, with service in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theatre campaigns. Walter enjoyed people and finding ways to be of service to others. He was a volunteer at the Salvation Army in Saugus, enjoyed going to the Torigian Life Center in Peabody, and was a member of the Golden Agers in Peabody. He is survived by: his wife, Anastasia M. (Zielinksi) Yelinski of Peabody; two daughters and a son-in-law, Roberta Abramson of Peabody and Patricia & her husband Donald Morse of FL; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Molly Beal of AZ, and he leaves a nephew Dennis Rowen of Peabody. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 – 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Funeral Service on Tuesday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
