Obituary of Nancy Kirmanthe (Psarros) Sorokoff

Nancy Kirmanthe (Psarros) Sorokoff LYNN—Nancy Kirmanthe (Psarros) Sorokoff, 90, beloved wife of Michael Sorokoff, entered into eternal rest on Thursday November 5, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Victoria (Corasanis) Psarros. She grew up in Cambridge and Lynn, and has lived in Lynn for most of her life. As the first-born in a large family with 10 siblings, Mrs. Sorokoff learned early to nurture and care for children. She was always the dependable person dedicated to her family and besides her daughters, enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is survived by: her husband Michael Sorokoff of Lynn, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria Victoria Janakas & her husband George and Georgia Nancy & her husband Vincent Mason both of Peabody; she was Yia Yia of three grandchildren, Stephanie Georgia Glynos & her husband George of Danvers, Andrea Nicole Janakas of CA, and Nicholas Anthony Mason & his fiancée Laura Marie of NY; Great Yia Yia to two great-grandchildren, Alexcea Georgia and Evan Yennie Glynos of Danvers; three sisters, Melba “Mae” & her husband Charles Konis of Beverly, Jennifer & her husband George Arguropoulos of Peabody, Christina & her husband Peter Pantazopoulos of Lynn; a brother, Charles & his wife Elizabeth Psarros of Lynn; a sister-in-law Georgia Psarros of Haverhill, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Angelo, Arthur, and Artie Psarros, and a sister Mary Long. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 – 6 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. facility, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday at 10 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
