Obituary of Luke J. Gauthier
Luke J. Gauthier, 49, of Peabody died Thursday afternoon at Salem Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Janice (Alviti) King-Gauthier.
He was born in Beverly on September 21, 1960, the son of the late Joseph A. and Virginia M. (Horlacher) Gauthier. He was raised in Manchester-by-the-Sea and moved to Peabody several years ago. He was a 1978 graduate of Goodwill-Hinckley High School in Hinckley, Maine. After high school, he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Germany until he was honorably discharged in 1982.
After his military service, Luke owned and operated Gauthier and Son Painting
in Manchester-by-the-Sea until 2004.
Luke enjoyed summers with his family and friends at Black Bear Campground in Salisbury. He also enjoyed cooking, watching the food channel and grilling for his friends at the pool at Ledgewood. Luke was also a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching all of Boston sports, especially the Patriots.
Besides his loving wife Janice, Luke is survived by his brothers and sisters, Elizabeth, Mark, Matthew, Fabienne, Rachel and Libby. He is also survived by three children Luke Jr., Asia and Ethan who reside in Florida. He also leaves his two beloved cats, Max and Ricky B and his dog, The Bandit.
A memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody with a prayer service at 7:00 PM to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A Mass of Intention for Luke will be said on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 5:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church in Manchester-by-the-Sea. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Heaps of Hope, a financial assistance program for cancer patients, C/O Matrix Financial, 60 Walnut St., Wellesley, MA 02481
