Obituary of Leonore E. (Jodoin) McEachern

Leonore E. (Jodoin) McEachern, 83, of Peabody, died early Monday morning at the Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John Phillip Mc Eachern. She was born in Salem MA on January 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Albert and Lydia (Michaud) Jodoin and was raised there graduating from Salem High School and late the Horace Mann School in Salem. She had been a resident of Peabody for the past 50 years. She had been a secretary at the United Shoe Machine Corp in Beverly for many years prior to her retirement. Leonore enjoyed doing needlepoint and tending to her flowers in her garden. She loved all kinds of music, especially the Polka music for dancing. She spent her summers along Singing Beach at Manchester by the Sea and used to travel with her husband to Cape Cod. Her most cherished time was spent being with her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, James P. and Kathleen Mc Eachern of Peabody and Thomas and Rebecca McEachern of Danvers, a daughter, Diane L. Watters and James Anthony of Marblehead, a sister, Claire Morse of Beverly, Ma her nine grandchildren, Jacqueline Sterling Hanson, Maura McEachern Nagy, Kenneth Sterling, Brendan McEachern, Sean and Brian Collins, Heather Thibodeau and Emily and Daniel McEachern, nine great Grandchildren, Ryan and Shannon Nagy, Chase, Colin and Preston Hanson and Cassidy and Jacob Thibodeau, Avery and Owen McEachern. She was the sister of the late Malcolm Jodoin, Louise and Florence Jodoin and Anita Putnam. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church Peabody/Salem line. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody Ma facility. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Masconomet Nursing Center music activity fund, 123 High St., Topsfield, MA 01983 in her memory.
