Dear Walsh Family,

I was very saddened to hear of your father's death. He was a great support for my Mom and Dad as long as I can remember. They had a lot of great times together and shared the hard times as well. And all the McLaughlin's have fond memories of CFM barbecues in your backyard. My condolences to your family. He was a wonderful and one-of-a-kind man.

Joan McLaughlin

I extend my condolences to Jack's family as you mourn his passing. I worked with Jack at St. Adelaide in the Religious Education program back in the late 60's and early 70's. He has rendered faithful service to God,his family, Church and country, and may he be blessed with eternal joy.

I was saddened to hear of Jack's passing. He was truly one of the greatest generation. There are many happy memories of times shared that I will remember. May he be reunited with the CFMers who passed before him. Thank you for teaching me the real meaning of friendship.

To Jack's Widow and all four sons.....

I am a graduate of the Wallis School. Jack was a very important figure for me when he was the principal. He was tough as nails, but also kind. He took me to see a Celtics game in 1961, when the Celts were playing Wilt. He appointed me a "traffic boy", complete with a 4" wide white strap that crossed my chestand waist so I could look official while stopping traffic on Main street and allowing the 3 different kids in that district to cross safely. He was proud that I didn't lose anyone. I was proud I didn't get myself killed.

That was my first "administrative leadership" position in my life.

In high school, he followed me and how I was doing all the time....without me knowing. My senior year, Jack helped me get a scholarship for all 4 years in college....all books and tuition paid for. He advocated for me as a champion would. I could not have gone to college without this, without him.

I would not be where I am today, without his looking out for me. I would not have had the career I have had, or made a difference in the lives of the thousands I have, without Jack Walsh. By him helping me, he is responsible for bettering the lives of all those kids, too.

I finished my educational career as Principal of Peabody High in 2004 and was recruited to NYC to run the premiere kids organization there, The Madison Square Boys & Girls Clubs. We provide help for 5,000 inner city kids. We save and enhance their lives.
Just like Jack did for me, so many years ago.

Jack's legacy of making a difference, of giving kids a chance, an opportunity, lives on....through me and through the countless other students he helped. I will always remember him.

Joseph Patuleia
