Obituary of Mary A. (Mendonca) Mac Pherson

Mary A. (Mendonca) MacPherson PEABODY—Mary A. (Mendonca) MacPherson, 83, beloved wife of the late Donald MacPherson, died peacefully on Friday at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Fernando and Rose (Augusta) Mendonca. She lived in Peabody for most of her life and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1944. Mrs. MacPherson worked as an assembler with GTE Sylvania in Danvers. Mary will be remembered mostly for her nurturing role, and dedicated and loving spirit. She loved family gatherings, dedicating her time for her family including her children, and cherished grandchildren. She is survived by: four sons Richard & his wife Marie MacPherson and Donald MacPherson, both of Peabody, Edward MacPherson of Portsmouth, NH and David & his wife Pamela MacPherson of Malden; four daughters, Janice De Merchant of Peabody & her late husband Gary, Kathleen & her husband Chip Madden, Cheryl & her husband Steve Woods, and Patricia & her husband Tom Blake, all of Peabody; she leaves many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by two brothers Edward and Manuel Mendonca. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 – 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
