Obituary of Kathleen Mary (Schrader) Santos

Kathleen Mary (Schrader) Santos, 56, of Salem, died Monday evening at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Anthony “Tony” Santos with whom she shared over 38 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of Frances (Chalifour) Schrader of Salem and the late Herbert Schrader. She was raised and educated in Salem and a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1970. Kathy worked as a secretary for the past 15 years for the First Justice Probate Court in Salem. She was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernia’s, Division 18 and the Family Moose Lodge, all in Salem. Family was important to Kathy and she cherished the time she spent with her children and later her grandchildren and besides her loving husband Tony, she is survived by two sons, Tony Santos and his partner Dave Granese of Derry, NH, Keith Santos and Christie Bills of Salem, and her daughter, Nichole and her husband Brant Engstrom of Worcester, a brother, David Schrader of Salem and is also survived by her two beloved grandchildren, Thomas and Peyton Engstrom. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
