Obituary of Anna J. (Glenn) Curtin

Anna J. (Glenn) Curtin, 97, of Beverly, and formerly of Peabody, died peacefully Sunday at her home surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was the wife of the late John H. Curtin. She was born in Berlin, NH, on March 12, 1912 the daughter of the late Michael and Olga Glenn . She had resided most of her life in Peabody graduating from Peabody High School in 1930 and had resided in Beverly for the past 31 years. She was first employed as a secretary at the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Company in Peabody for many years. She later was a buyer in the sportswear department at the former Almy’s Department Store in Salem for twenty five years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter and was a nurturer to her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Louis F. and Patricia (Curtin) O’Keefe of Lynnfield and Claire E. Curtin of Beverly, her three grandchildren, Kathleen Stelline of Amesbury, Michael O’Keefe of Salem, VA and Lou O’Keefe of Lynnfield, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Sophie Hughes. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Church St., Peabody at 11:00 AM.
