Obituary of Dorothy C. (Proulx) Mallard
Dorothy C. (Proulx) Mallard, 95, of Danvers and formerly of Salem, died Thursday evening at the Hunt Retirement and Nursing Center, Danvers . She was the wife of the late John Mallard.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI on February 8, 1914, the daughter of the late Peter and Annie (Guier) Proulx and had resided in Peabody, Salem and Danvers most of her life.
She had been employed at the GTE Sylvania Lighting Plant on Boston St., Salem for 10 years. Later, she was a cook at the Wardhurst Restaurant in Peabody for 15 years prior to her
Retirement. She had enjoyed ballroom dancing in her earlier years and also played bingo for many years. She had been a long standing member of St. John’s Church in Peabody.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Linda Mallard and Paul and Mary Mallard all of Peabody and Bob and Jackie Mallard of Lynn, a daughter and son-in-law, Janice C. and Christopher Cornet of Peabody, four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Frank Mallard and Barbara Mallard and was predeceased by many siblings.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. A Funeral Service will be held there at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association,
