Obituary of Robert W. Hinton

Robert W. Hinton, Sr. PEABODY--Robert W. Hinton, Sr., 60, of Peabody died at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Taunton, he was the husband of Karen for 33 wonderful years. They met in 1975 while working at Domino Sugar in Charlestown and continued their loving friendship throughout their married life. Bob is survived by his parents, Bob and Alice of Taunton, his three sons, Robert Jr., “Robbie” of San Jose CA, Jon of Boston and Matthew of Saugus, two brothers, Brian and his wife Linda Hinton of Bedford NH, and Richard and his wife Joan Hinton of Taunton; his mother-in-law, Barbara (Sexton) Martin of Peabody; his brother and sisters-in-law, Ted & Rose Martin of Lynn, Maryellen & Andy Hamel, TJ & Leah Martin and Nancy & Jimmy Griffin all of Peabody. He is survived by his dear aunt Lois Anderson of Norton. He was predeceased by his father in law Ed “Honey” Martin who will welcome him to his eternal home. He is also survived by many beloved nieces & nephews that knew him affectionately as “big shot.” Bob was an alumnus of the former Monsignor Coyle High School, Taunton & Stonehill College in Easton MA where he achieved a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He worked diligently for the past 25 years at Parker Hannafin, Chomerics in Waltham & Woburn. He was a faithful member of St John the Baptist Parish family where he served on the finance Committee preparing yearly budgets. Bob was a 30 plus year member of St Ann’s Men’s Bowling League, Peabody and Park Lanes Golf League, NH. Bob coached his sons in Peabody Youth Soccer & Little League. He was also an Essex County Soccer Referee for many years. Bob will be remembered for his joyful, loving nature and ready smile. He accepted his 16 month battle with cancer with faith, patience and courage. He will be greatly missed by the many people that loved him until they are reunited in eternity. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. The visitation will be on Friday, December 18th from 4pm-8pm at Conway, Cahill - Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street location, Peabody. For directions see their website-www.ccbfuneral.com. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday morning at 11 AM in St John the Baptist Church, 17 Chestnut St., Peabody. Burial will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery, Lynnfield St., Lynn, MA.
