Obituary of Bertha (Perfikowski) Krisko

Bertha (Perfikowski) Krisko, 93, of Peabody, died Sunday afternoon at the Ledgewood Nursing Home in Beverly following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Marion Krisko. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Tekla (Kozak) Perfikowski. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1933. Bertha has been widowed since 1959 and raised and educated her 3 children, while working as a sales clerk for Empire Clothing in Salem. Bertha was the oldest active member at St. Cecelia’s Choir at St. Joseph Church in Peabody, and also was a member of the Holy Rosary Society and St. Joseph’s Guild. Bertha enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was considered a very good seamstress. Church and family was most important to her, and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her including her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Cheryl Krisko of Beverly, two daughters and a son-in-law, Marian Hosman of Salem and Barbara and Shawn Potter of Hamilton, a sister, Josephine Kalinowsky of Peabody and her grandchildren: Lauren and Chris Sweatman, Michael and Carolyn Krisko, Matthew and Shannon Krisko, Alison Hosman, Andrew and Gillian Hosman, Kevin and Shayna Potter and Carolyn and Todd Slocum. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank Perfikowski and Julie Pietkiewicz. Visiting hours for Bertha will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody, followed by a her Funeral Service on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Her Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her name to the VNA All Care Hospice, 16 City Hall Square, Lynn, MA 01901.
