Obituary of David Walter Stephen

David W. Stephen PEABODY—David W. Stephen, 89, beloved husband of the late Barbara Stephen, died Sunday at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody after a long illness. Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late John and Lucy Stephen. He grew up there and graduated from Lowell High School. He lived in Pittsfield for many years after the war, and lived in Westfield. He recently lived in Billerica and in Peabody. He went into the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a Bombardier with the Army Air Corps. Mr. Stephen was a Draftsman working with General Electric in Pittsfield, then worked several years with Alstrom in Connecticut until his retirement. Dave was a Mason, member of the Melha Lodge in the Westfield area, and was a Chief Clown with the Shriners in 1983. He also was a member of the VFW in Hudson, FL as he enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida. He is survived by: a nephew Donald Prescott of Peabody and niece Joan Jarzynka of Saugus; great-nieces & great-nephews, William Jarzynka of Billerica, Donna Woodford of Peabody, David Prescott of AZ, and Alisha Prescott of San Diego, CA; three great-great nieces, Cassandra, Corrina, and Amy Jarzynka of Billerica. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to his Funeral Service on Thursday Dec. 24, 2009 at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Edson Cemetery, Lowell. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Burns Hospital, 51 Blossom St. Boston, MA 02116. P
