Obituary of Richard H. Colosi

Richard H. Colosi, 72, known by many as “Guido,” died Sunday evening at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Judith (Klasner) Colosi with whom he shared over 22 years of marriage. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Albert and Ada Dallas (Roberts) Colosi. He has lived in Peabody for the past 45 years. Guido was a veteran of the Korean War and served as a paratrooper with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in January, 1958. After his military service, he worked as Hoisting Engineering, running heavy equipment for Local 4, for over 43 years, before retiring in 2000. Guido was a member of the Elks B.P.O.E, Lodge #1409 in Peabody for many years, he also enjoyed putting together model airplanes and working on and restoring cars and trucks. Besides his loving wife Judith, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Joanne Colosi of Middleton, his daughter, Doreen Quinlan and her fiancé Bill Pasquale of Peabody, four grandchildren, James and Jennifer Colosi and Michael and Matthew Quinlan, and by 1 great granddaughter, Krystal. He was from a family of 9 children, and is also survived by his wife’s children, Michelle Driscoll and her children, Megan and Julia Rose of Pennsylvania, and Amanda Osborne and her children, Jordan and John of Haverhill. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
