Obituary of Karen G. (Lendall) Appleton

Karen G. (Lendall) Appleton PEABODY—Karen G. (Lendall) Appleton, 51, of Lynn and formerly of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Monday morning, January 11, 2010, at the North Shore Medical Center—Union Hospital in Lynn following a long illness. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of Patricia (Fallon) Lendall of Peabody and the late Warren Lendall. She lived in Peabody for most of her life, where she attended St. John’s Grammar School and graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School, Class of 1977. Karen enjoyed children, and was a Foster Mother for many years for many children with DMR and ARC. She was a supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Organization and was involved in many fundraising events. She is survived by: her mother, Patricia (Fallon) Appleton of Peabody; a son Michael Appleton of Lynn; a daughter Sheila Appleton of Lynn; a step-daughter Shayna Appleton of New Hampshire; three brothers and a sister-in-law, James Lendall & his wife Sue Chick of Danvers, Edward Lendall and Mark Lendall both of Peabody; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Kate & Dennis Fisher of Groveland and Donna Lendall of Peabody; a special nephew and niece, John Lendall and Jennifer Lendall, and several other nieces and nephews. She also was the former wife of William Appleton of Lynn. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to her Funeral Service on Thursday Jan 14, 2010 at 11:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow the ceremony. Memorial donations may be made to the Bass River Association, Salem, MA.
