Obituary of Loretta H. (Halley) Flahive

Loretta H. Flahive, 82, of Peabody, died Tuesday evening at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Robert Flahive with whom she shared over 35 years of marriage. Born in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Maude (Laurie) Halley. She was raised and educated in Revere and was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Revere. She has lived in Peabody for the past 35 years. Loretta first worked for Transatron in Salem and a secretary and later worked as a dental assistant for Dr. John DiStasio in Revere before retiring years ago. Loretta is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Patricia Goudreau of Peabody and Peter and Mary Lou Flahive of Allentown, PA, a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bart Ciampa of Lawrence, her brothers, Doug, Walter, and Paul Halley, her sisters, Florence LaFreniere and Doris Talios, she is also survived by her six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Herbie, Sandy, John, and Jim Halley, Monica Geehan, and Sr. Mary Dismas, sister of St. Joseph. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn ST., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
