Obituary of Celeste M. (Nunes) DeFreitas

Celeste M. “Les” (Nunes) De Freitas, of Lynnfield, died on Thursday, February 4, 2010. She was 94 years of age and the beloved wife of the late Ernest “Ernie” A. De Freitas. She was born in Danvers, MA, the daughter of the late John and Sophia (Perry) Nunes and had resided in Lynnfield for nearly 60 years. She enjoyed knitting, crafts and above all- bowling. She had been a member of the Wakefield Bowladrome 9AM Woman’s league for over 45 years as well as the Sunday evening league. She had celebrated her 90th birthday at the bowling alley in 2005 surrounded by her family and many members of the two leagues. She is survived by her daughters, Valerie Jackson and her husband Chuck of Andover and Paula Hegarty of Methuen, her cherished grandchildren, Bradley, Keith and Kristen Jackson and Tracey Hegarty Aronson, Patrick, Mark, Ashley and Lindsay Hegarty and was a aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters. A private burial service was held at the family lot in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield. A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held at 22 Edward Avenue, Lynnfield, MA on Saturday, February 27, 2010 form 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
