Obituary of Melissa J. "Missy" (Towers) Dickinson

Melissa J. “Missy” (Towers) Dickinson, 43, wife of James L. Dickinson of Peabody, died unexpectedly in York Maine on Thursday, February 4, 2010. Missy was born on November 4, 1966, in Wakefield, daughter of Daniel and Barbara (Hooper) Towers of No Reading. She was raised in Lynnfield and graduated from the North Shore Regional High School in Beverly, Class of 1984. Missy has been residing in Peabody since 1990. Missy was employed as an executive secretary at Papco International in Rye New Hampshire. She dedicated her life to her family and her passions included her love of animals, horseback riding, boating, swimming and traveling. She and her family summered at their camp in York, Maine. In addition to her husband with whom she shared 20 years of marriage and her parents of No Reading, Missy is survived by her 2 sons, Michael R. Dickinson and Robert J. Dickinson of Peabody; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Mark and Fawn Towers of York, Maine, and Steven Towers of Hampden, ME; her nieces and nephews, Douglas, Daniel and Ambur Towers, Kevin, Jim and Jack Donovan, Rachel and Ryan Gagnon; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Rod Dickinson of Peabody; many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Pastor Michael Ballou of the North Shore Baptist Church, Peabody will officiate. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made in Missy memory to the Melissa J. Dickinson Memorial Fund, C/O Peabody Municipal Federated Credit Union, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody.
