Obituary of Audrey M. (Bernardi) Hogan
Audrey M. (Bernardi) Hogan 84 years, wife of the late Edward J. Hogan Sr., died unexpectedly on Monday at her home.
Mrs. Hogan was born in Boston daughter of the late John and Rosa (Cavagnaro) Bernardi. She was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School and pursued her education at Fisher College in Boston where she received her Associates Degree. She moved to Peabody in 1952.
Mrs. Hogan was employed for 15 years by the City of Peabody School Department. She was a communicant of St. Ann Church in Peabody, volunteered and was very active at the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center, a member of the AOH Division 11 in Peabody, Carmel Club for widow and widowers on the North Shore and loved to dance. For many years she was active with the committee to reelect Mayor Peter A. Torigian.
She is survived by 3 sons and their wives, Edward J. and Frances Hogan Jr. of Haverhill, Lawrence M. Larry and Debra Hogan of Boxford, Stephen J. and Judy Hogan of Bradford; a daughter and her husband, Ruth P. and Paul F. Bitchell of Byfield; 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Olga Asaro of Winchester, Rosemarie and Millard Hathaway of Williamsburg and Janet D’ Entremont of Medford; a close companion, Thomas White of Peabody; 11 grandchildren, Kathleen Ouellette of Georgetown, Patricia Calascibetta of Danvers, Jonathan Hogan of Haverhill, Tamra Hogan of OR, Cara and Elana Hogan of Boxford, Patrick, Emily and Matthew Bitchell of Byfield, Danny and Kelsey Hogan of Bradford; 2 great grandchildren, Michael and Julia Calascibetta of Danvers and several nieces and nephews. A son John K. Hogan pre deceased her.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. Peabody location, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center, 79 Central St., Peabody MA 01960.
