Obituary of Donald R. Leclerc Sr.

Donald R. Leclerc Sr., 68, of Salem, died peacefully early Saturday morning at the Salem Hospital with his family by his side following a brief illness. He was the husband and soul mate of the late Rosemarie (Donato)Leclerc of forty-four years until her death last May. He was born in Salem on May 10, 1941 the son of the late J. Roland G. and Dorothy R. (Cressy) Leclerc and was raised and educated there graduated from Salem Vocational High School. He entered the US. Naval Reserve where he served for four years prior to his discharge in 1964. Donald then worked at the former J.M. Fields department store in Swampscott and later at the United Shoe Machine Corp. in Beverly. He then was employed at the Lucent Technologies Company at the North Andover plant for 25 years prior to his retirement. Donald enjoyed traveling with his wife and going on cruises. He was a great chef and loved to cook and entertain with his family. He enjoyed going to Bingo and liked to shop for bargains. Donald had been associated with the former Bick and Curry Funeral Homes in Beverly and Ipswich. He loved animals, especially his dog, Tiffany Rose, and cherished his times with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his four sons and spouses, Donald Leclerc Jr. and Louis Santiago of Haverhill, Paul and Marcy Leclerc of Peabody, John and Tammy Leclerc of Northboro,MA and Mark and Heather Leclerc of Salem, his twin brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Jan Leclerc and a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Ronald Conwell all of Peabody, his seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn Rose and Joseph Leclerc of Peabody, Olivia Rose and Jared Leclerc of Northboro, Colby and Cameron Leclerc of Salem and Jonathan Santiago/Leclerc of Haverhill, two great grandchildren, Jayden Leclerc Harding and Madison Rosemarie Leclerc and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:15 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
