Obituary of Donna R. (Riddell) Cahill

Donna R. (Riddell) Cahill, 57, of Middleton, wife of the late John “Jack” Cahill, died on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a courageous battle with Leukemia and Lymphoma. Donna was born on October 18, 1952, in Lynn, daughter of James and Louise (Lyon) Riddell of Swampscott. She was raised in Swampscott and graduated from Swampscott High School Class of 1970. During her High School years, she played and captained the cheerleader and basketball teams in Swampscott. She then attended Salem State College and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in 1974. Donna taught at the Tiny Tot pre-school and also substituted at the Howe Manning Elementary School in Middleton. Donna loved her family vacations at Sebago, Maine, being with and taking care of children, and will be well remembered by family members and friends as a kind and giving person. Donna is survived by her children, Jeffrey R. Cahill and his wife Renee of Newtown Square, PA, Joseph J. Cahill, and Jill R. Cahill both of Middleton; a brother and his wife, Charles and Linda Riddell of Danvers; her sisters –in –law and their husbands, Jane and Mal Weiner of Peabody, and Patsy and Bruce Davidson of MD and many supportive nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her funeral will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, 22 Boston Street, Middleton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton.
